Yes, you read the title correctly.  AZBarbeque in conjunction with Whiskey Ranch BBQ Catering Co. & the Triple Crown of BBQ planning committee will be hosting professional Tailgate Parties out at each ASU (Arizona State University) Home Football games this year.  Each game will benefit a different local charity and the goal is to help them raise money and awareness for their charity at the event.

AZBarbeque is working closely with sponsors to help offset the costs of the tailgates so that all the money raised during the event can go directly to each charity.

The way it will work is each person attending the tailgate will be asked to donate a minimum of $10.  This will get them into the tailgate party and all the food and non-alcoholic drink during the event which is sure to be great with Whiskey Ranch BBQ Catering company doing the cooking.  All the money raised will go directly to the charity and really help them raise the awareness during the tailgates for their cause as well.

These tailgate parties will consist of fun games, eating contests, dunk tanks, dance contest, etc, so there really will be quite a bit for everyone to do and to see.  There will be a great sound system out there so that we can listen to great music during the event as well as make announcements as necessary and there will also be some TV’s available so people can watch the earlier games.  Truly a great setup.

Some of the Charities already signed up are Arizona Autism Support, the Turnbow Foundation, ONSemi, ASU Student Athlete Scholarship fund and several others.

Luckily we have 8 home games this year, that’s unheard of, including a huge Thanksgiving Day game against USC which will be on National TV.

AZBarbeque is really working with the entire Arizona Community to promote BBQ in the state as well as to support local charities.  They are more than just BBQ, they are community friends.

Supporting Charities Through Tailgating!!   by: Michael J. Reimann
Hello all, we just firmed up details for this event.

As you might know, the Thomas J. Pappas school for the Homeless is being forced to close their doors at the end of this Semester in the beginning of June for good. Now that they are closing, the children that are currently enrolled will have to go to other local schools.

Border Electric has started a Clothing and Money drive to help raise money to purchase clothes or to get clothes donated for this children.

AZBarbeque has offered to team up with them on for this great cause and have planned a Benefit BBQ lunch on Friday, May 9th from 11 am - 1:30 pm at the Border Electric on Priest & 56th st.

We really want to appeal to all of our members to help out where they can. If you can talk with your vendors and get food/product donated for this event, we would greatly appreciate it. If you can't cook it, we will. You are more than welcome to bring out your cookers, rigs, banners, etc to promote your company as well as interact with the people donating.

We will also need help serving, setting up and tearing down.

If you can help or if you would like more info, please visit the topic online at http://www.azbarbeque.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=58&topic=2185.msg14156#msg14156

I know all of our members on AZBarbeque are fantastic and we look forward to seeing as many of you out there that can make it.

I thank you in advance for your help and support.

Regards,

Mike
